Nicomedia of Nicomedië was een Bithynische en later Romeinse stad op de plaats van het huidige İzmit in Turkije.
De stad is gesticht door Nicomedes I van Bithynië, is gelegen aan het uiteinde van de Golf van Astacus die uitkomt in de Propontis.
