The oldest part of the nature garden in Nieuwkoop was established in 1982. At that time, the garden was about 3,500 m2 in size. Along the edge of the rectangular plot, there is a strip of forest with stinzenflora. Branch piles have been created for insects, birds, and small mammals. A large part of the central area has been turned into a flower meadow. Additionally, there is a garden with arable accompanying flora and herbs, a pond, nutrient-poor peat, and a sand dyke with a retaining wall.

In 1999, the nature garden was expanded to about 10,000 m2. In this new section, there is a high-stem orchard, a laying area, a wood bank with a bee house, a helophyte filter, a puddle, a willow grove, and a bank with native trees and shrubs.

In early spring, thousands of stinzen plants bloom in the forest strips. A little later, the flower meadow is in full bloom. The best time to visit the garden is during the months of March, April, and May.
