• De GR 128 is een internationale route die begint in het Franse dorpje Wissant aan de Opaalkust en na 680 km eindigt in de Duitse stad Aken.

• In Vlaanderen doorkruist de GR 128 de provincies West- en Oost-Vlaanderen, Vlaams-Brabant en Limburg.

• Voor de steden Gent, Leuven, Tongeren en Sint-Truiden zijn extra stadsvarianten uitgewerkt die aansluiten op de hoofdroute. Deze bieden wandelaars de keuze om een stadstour te maken of de hoofdroute te volgen.
