Descripció de l'autor

Meet at Groenendaal (V) station, Groenendaalsesteenweg in Hoeilaart. Dive under the railway and pedal to the busy Chaussée de la Hulpe. Turn right onto the bike path until you reach the traffic lights. Just one direction to zero and with the green light on the busy intersection. On the other side in the Duboislaan and at the junction straight, parallel to the railway, in the Tumulidreef. Whew! On the left is the Jan van Ruusbroeck Forest Museum. Just on the asphalt along the railway tracks, then you pedal through the Sonian Forest at a barrier. You can be guided for a moment by the hexagonal signs of the 100 km long Belt Road, completely around Brussels. Our tour remains south and east of the capital. Ignore the side roads and continue driving straight. Take it easy, as there is a lot of walking, jogging and cycling here and you will also meet a lot of cyclists. At a Y, you leave the Tumulidreef on the left and enter the unpaved Vander Heydenweg. Keep following it until you have to cross the road (Duboislaan). On the other side, you pedal into the asphalt SintMichielsdreef. Monumental ways It continues to enjoy the majestic alleys, all of which have a name here. After passing a beautiful chapel of trees, turn right a little further at the intersection with the Lorreinendreef, at a picnic area. The Belt Road goes straight here. Continue following the Lorreinendreef until you reach the intersection with the Bundersdreef. You follow it to the right. You cross the Duboislaan again and continue to follow the Bundersdreef on the other side. You dive further into a tunnel under the railway tracks, then continue by bike to the Chaussée de la Hulpe.

You can operate a traffic light and thus reach the other side safely. There you pedal into the Hendrickxdreef. Ignore the Graaf van Vlaanderendreef on the left and continue straight until you reach the intersection with the paved Molenweg. Here you take the Mezendreef, diagonally to the left, with a white arrow on a red square and the sign of the Brussels Region. You cross a paved road and continue cycling until you can descend into a beautiful alley. Just right to the left, then with a steep climb to the intersection with the Tamboerdreef. Turn right and a little further under the busy Brussels ring road, then continue on an unpaved path. This is the Wolvendreef (nameplate at the end). Don't worry about side roads and follow the path until you get to a T. You are now in the Welriekende Dreef. Follow it to the left to the end. It's time to set your mind to zero a second time. Turn right and immediately left across the highway. At the church of Jezus-Eik turn left and immediately right on the Capuchin road. If you want to recover, you can do so in one of the many catering establishments. Our tour continues through the Capuchin Route and you follow another part of the Gordelroute but in the opposite direction. You can immediately take the path into the forest which is parallel to the driveway with the spacious buildings for a long time. Then, at a barrier, he continues for a very long time through the monumental alley. Don't worry about side roads. Leave the Hertdreef and be careful. You enter a kind of alley and a crossroads, with a straight path where only hikers are allowed. On the right, a sign indicating the belt road indicates the direction you came from. Turn left and continue cycling until you reach a wide forest road. On the left, there is a barrier, but you pedal sharply to the right, and then the first one has drifted to the left. A little further, turn left onto Isabelledreef. At the end of this route, you will cycle on cobblestones to the Duisburgsesteenweg.

Along the ponds, cross it and cross the Capuchin Gate and follow the Capuchin Gate, without worrying about secondary roads. In the bend, you pedal further along the park wall and cross the Rijkunstdreef. Continue to ignore all side drives. You cycle between the historic SintHubertus chapel and the impressive Panquin barracks, then take the Keizerinnedreef on the right (without nameplate), towards the pond park. On sunny days it can get very busy in this beautiful park. On the left, you have a beautiful view of the Royal Museum for Central Africa. You cycle along the castle pond, the canal pond, the Gordaal pond and further around the Vossem pond and through the Kleine Vaartdreef, along the Grote and the Kleine Sint-Gertrudisvijver. In these ponds, you can suffer nuisance due to work until spring 2009; Finding your own way is the message. Then take the Zittekensstraat on the left and cycle out of the park. You go up to a T and turn left towards Duisburg. In a chapel in Sinte-Barbara, turn right with the road and go up to the church in Duisburg. Keep the church on your left and continue straight ahead towards Eizer and Overijse. Ignore the side streets and keep right at the Y-junction, passing the Eizer football field, a white chapel and Eizer Church. The wine region runs through the village, direction Overijse. Continue to follow the Duisburgsesteenweg for a long time and until you reach the intersection with the P. I. Taymansstraat. Here you cycle left and continue following this road until you arrive in Overijse, after a short steep descent, on the Brusselsesteenweg. Cross it carefully and cross Justus Lipsiusplein. On the left the church, on the right the tavern De Met and the Grape Museum. Take the Stationsstraat on the right and follow this one-way street to the end. Continue straight on the Stationsplein and turn left after the regular bus drop-off in the Tombeurstraat and immediately after right into the Molendreef. You pedal on a wide cycle path, next to the IJse. At the crossroads straight into the Hagaardbosweg. Ignore the Kalfsborreweg on the left and continue straight on your bike Cross the "dangerous" intersection with Zorgvliet and a little further you drive with the cycle path parallel to the Fr. Verbeekstraat in Hoeilaart. This is not the prettiest part of the tour, but the bike path is separated from the roadway by a hedge. Don't worry about side streets, pedal under the motorway and continue straight on to Hoeilaart. Also at the Nerocafé, known from Marc Sleen's comics, and at the tram station (of the former special district railway for the rapid transport of grapes), you pedal straight, on the cycle path along the Jan van Ruusbroeckpark, continue straight until you reach Groenendaal station.
