From Lomm, you bike to the hamlet of Hanik and through the nature reserve of Straelensbroek. The route enters Germany and makes a circle around Walbeck, allowing you to cycle along quiet agricultural roads towards Twisteden.
Between the German hamlet of Heide and the Dutch Tuindorp, you re-enter the Netherlands. The landscape suddenly appears much larger: vast agricultural fields on your right, nature reserve on your left.
At the Dutch Siebengewald, you re-enter Germany, and the landscape becomes smaller again. You cycle through the catchment area of the stream Kendel. Near Hommersum, you enter the Netherlands again and cross through National Park de Maasduinen. The return journey partly follows the Maas, where you especially get very close to the Maas between Well and Wellerlooi. You also cross through NP Maasduinen several times, including along the Reindersmeer, back towards Tuindorp and over the cycling street Twistedener Weg. Via Arcen, you cycle back to Lomm.
