Goose Creek Path

We cross the Leester Straße, at the next corner we follow the small bike and footpath and turn into the Gänsebachweg, which leads us to Melchiorshausen to the Syker Straße (B6). We have to cross the federal road, as there is only a footpath on this side. We follow it a few meters towards Syke and reach the Grützmacherstraße. Again, we venture across the federal road.

We turn right into Grützmacherstraße, then immediately into Gartenstraße. We pass the war memorial, the old Melchiorshauser elementary school, cross Melchiorshauser Straße at the traffic light, and follow "Hinter dem Felde". The second left turn leads us past the afforestation back to the street "Am Gänsekamp".

The Gänsebachweg is an old path parallel to the Gänsebach. We pass by an area where, with the support of the Nabu, a traditional orchard has been created. We are in the middle of Weyhe, yet away from suburban development. The war memorial in Melchiorshausen, like the one in Sudweyhe, is located in a spacious park under old trees. The elementary school was closed a few years ago after fierce protests from citizens; today there is a large daycare center for children and next door a special needs school.
