A route 95% unpaved alongside the many beautiful ponds in Strijbeek and estate Honsdonk. The first pond you encounter I cannot find a name for anywhere; halfway down the narrow path you will come across a very special tree known as (Beech ''The tree with the ox head'') https://www.monumentaltrees.com/nl/nld/noordbrabant/breda/6996_landgoedhondsdonk/15036/ Then you continue along the narrow path that becomes even narrower and we head towards the KRUISVIJVER

Recently, in February 2017, the final works for the restoration of the Kruisvijver were completed: filling the pond with careful cross-shaped framing. Soon you will be able to enjoy the reflection of the circle of old oaks in the water from a bench. This is a beautiful start to the redevelopment of the estate. During the excavation, the old contours of the original Kruisvijver surfaced again, visible in the discolorations of the excavation. These contours run almost parallel to the current new shape. But a post from the old pond has also been found. It was only 20 cm from the current new pond edge… Hats off to Stichting in Arcadie and Chris Portengen!
