Pure Drenthe Route

This varied route takes you through forests, village edges, and the special floodplain landscape. The cultural heritage is also clearly present. You cycle through villages with medieval edges and see a mysterious burial mound appear in the distance. You also pass by the former camp Westerbork, where time seems to stand still, and you look into the room of the radio observatory. A wonderful route for cycling, both on a leisure bike and on a racing bike.

"I find this route, through cozy villages like Rolde, Grolloo, and Schoonloo, to be an ideal training loop on the racing bike. You hardly encounter traffic lights and the bike paths are very wide. Along the way, I enjoy the beautiful, old farmhouses and often sit on the terrace in the cozy Westerbork to catch my breath."
