Three 'mountains' hiking route Lochem - 11km

Between Lochem and Barchem, we find a beautiful rolling landscape formed by three "mountains," the Paasch Berg, the Lochemse Berg, and the Kale Berg. The Lochemse Berg is the highest, reaching about 49 meters above sea level. We begin this hiking tour at Onderlangs, near the Open Air Theater on the southwest side of Lochem. It goes straight up, and we pass the back of the Open Air Theater and can look 'from above' into the theater. Via the Hessenweg, we get an overview of the Hoge Enk, an agricultural area that we cross, continuing along the northeastern edge of the forest. Enjoy the vistas and the landscape. At the Zwiepseweg, we take a sunken path back up the mountain, and after some climbing and descending a little further, we come back to the Zwiepseweg. We enter the forest again via an ascending path, and after a while, we arrive at a resting pavilion on the Kale Berg and a little further on, a lecture hall which earned the nickname 'Forest Chapel,' and we are now close to Barchem. After descending, we pass by Eethuisje 'De Kale' Berg. We now return towards Lochem via forest paths among the different tree growth. The first thing we encounter is the "Witte Wievenkoele," a deep pit in the forest, known from a Gelderland legend about Witte Wieven. Between the Kale Berg and the Lochemse Berg lies another beautiful rolling agricultural area. At the highest point on the Lochemse Berg, we pass by a Belvedere, which is no longer in use because the tree growth in the surrounding area is higher than the former viewpoint. We descend the Lochemse Berg again, and after crossing the priority road, continue to descend until we reach the Onderlangs road, which we follow back to the starting point.
