Het Kasteel van Horst is de ideale uitvalsbasis om via het wandelnetwerk Hagelandse heuvels de streek te verkennen. Onze aanrader is de knooppuntwandeling. Langs de kasteelvijver zoeken we de bosrijke Wingevallei op. Een holle weg klimt langzaam naar mooie vergezichten vanop de Beninksberg. De weg terug leidt door ‘de Ketterije’, het bos dat het Kasteel van Horst omringt en in de 16^de eeuw zo werd genoemd omdat er zich nogal wat protestanten schuil hielden.
