Bruz ligger nær centrum af Ille-et-Vilaine departementet, 14 km fra Rennes. Det ligger tæt på sammenløbet af floderne Vilaine og Seiche. I 2008 gik 3,76% af børnene i to-sprogede folkeskoler. Kommunen underskrev Ya d'ar brezhoneg-charteret den 1. oktober 2011.
