My area routes

This region used to be known as the 'Mining Region' and was divided into the Eastern and Western Mining Regions. The coal mines have disappeared and people have done their best to turn this black gray region into a 'green' one. Many buildings and mining heaps have disappeared from the area. Yet there are still remnants that remind of the prosperity of that time.

Along the way during these routes you will come across remnants that remind you of this. The region in the east has also been given a new name that is also no longer reminiscent of the coal mines. Parkstad is the new name that honors the metamorphosis. A large park in an urban environment.
