Stanzach is located at the mouth of the Namlos Valley in the Lech Valley. The village was first officially mentioned in 1294. In addition to the main village, the mountain pasture village of Fallerschein also belongs to the municipality. Furthermore, numerous houses are spread out on a terrace along the Lech. Stanzach has about 120 households. The local mountain of the municipality is the Nerenkopf, which is situated in the southern part of Stanzach.
