Anton-Renk-Hütte - Fallender Bach

This hike of intermediate difficulty leads from the village of Ried in the Tirolean Oberland to the Anton-Renk-Hütte and on to the Renkfälle waterfall, also known as the Fallender Bach. Here, at 2,260 metres above sea level, the water tumbles 150 metres over a rocky outcrop down the mountainside. The return leg to Ried is completed by cable car.
The hike begins at the top of the cable car in Ried. Walk to the southern end of the village (Langwiese). From there, take the trail uphill through the forest, past the hamlets of Hohlenegg and Gfrans, along the Stalanzer Bach stream to the Stalanzer Alm (food and drink served). The final section (from the car park at Spielebene) to the hut follows a relatively steep but wide path. From the hut, take a walking trail until you reach a small bridge over the Stalanzer Bach stream. The last part of the walk leads gently uphill to the Anton-Renk-Hütte (2,261 metres). From there it is just a few minutes to the Fallender Bach waterfall. Head from there along a trail to the Zirmesköpfel mountain. Then descend via the Fendler Alm (food and drink served) to the Sattelklause. The final journey back to Ried can be completed by cable car.
