Hike to Putzenalpe and Nessleralpe

Enjoyment is the main focus of this hike between St. Jakob and Pettneu in the Arlberg region: The first opportunity to take a break is at Putzenalm, followed by a stop at Nessleralpe. From here, there is a beautiful view of the Hoher Riffler (3,168 meters), the Lechtal Alps, and the Stanzer Valley. Just before Pettneu, a natural biotope covered with water lilies invites you once more to take a break in the midst of nature.
The starting point is near the St. Jakob Church, from where the tour leads along the Jakobsweg, which often ascends quite steeply and without changes in direction, up to Putzenalm (1,726 meters). From there, you hike directly to the highest point of the hike, at about 2,050 meters above sea level. After that, it is all downhill to Walchener Höhe (1,940 meters), where there is a cross, and beyond to Nessleralm (1,618 meters). From there, it’s a pleasant descent on a road through forests and meadows down to Pettneu, where you also cross the Hirschenbad biotope, a biotope you shouldn’t miss. From Pettneu, you take the bus back to St. Jakob.
