The former abbey of Saint-Gérard Brogne was a Benedictine monastery of monks based in Saint-Gérard (common Mettet) in the province of Namur, Belgium. Founded by St. Gerard Brogne in 919, it was abolished in 1795 Beside the abbey developed a village that took the name of St. Gerard. An official document dated 986 quotes the abbey as melting pot. In 1981, beer Brogne reborn being brewed by different breweries whose brasserie La Binchoise again. In 2013, the brewery Abbey Brogne returns home, settling in the room of the Pilgrims at the heart of the abbey. The blonde Brogne grading 6.5% alcohol by volume and is brewed with malts and hops organic. A Special Christmas Brogne grading 8.5% alcohol by volume is brewed in limited quantities
