Museum of the History of Sciences

The Museum of the History of Sciences is part of Ghent University and until 2018 was located on the Sterre Campus, on the De Pintelaan in Ghent. Afterwards, the collection moved to the Ledeganck campus as part of the Ghent University Museum.

The museum was founded in 1948 by Professor Albert Van de Velde, as a department of the Museum of Archaeology. In 1964, the university decided to take over the museum; the collections were housed on the Korte Meer. In 1994, the museum moved to building S30, a former army hangar, because the collection had become too extensive.
