The municipality of Wevelgem wanted to make the streetscape in school environments more attractive and playful, tailored to the children. An empty wall in front of VBS Bamo in the Rozenstraat offered the ideal canvas. In collaboration with the renowned street art festival The Crystal Ship in Ostend and the local residents, we searched together for a suitable art project.

Nils Westergard is a young talented artist, street artist, and filmmaker who lives and works in Richmond, Virginia. Nils started making graffiti when he was 14, nowadays he works a lot with stencils and creates large murals that he makes freehand.
His murals are often large in size, have a picturesque character and are usually black and white. In this way, he creates an intimate and pleasant atmosphere in his work. The mural stands out, but at the same time it fits flawlessly into its surroundings.
