A triangular niche with a statue of Mary hangs from the standing beam.
It was designed by Ferdinand Legros at the time.
It stands at a crossroads in the Bois de la Borzeu on the old road from Liège to Stavelot and on to Luxembourg, an important road in the 18th and 19th centuries. The road reaches its highest point here - about 500m - between the valley of the Roannay and the valley of the Amblève.
