Rillaar, over mountain and valley between Sint-Niklaaskerk and Rommelaar

This walk will introduce you to some beautiful aspects of Rillaar. We pass both the village bowl with the special Sint-Niklaas church and the statue of 'the seasonal worker' and the grasslands of the Motte and the beautiful Konijnenberg. Rommelaar with its houses scattered as if it were is our furthest hamlet. You may be disappointed when you have to step past ribbon buildings. An important part of the road is paved, but that should not prevent you from enjoying the beautiful panoramas.

The walk of 6 kilometers long, is not difficult. We do take the 'col' of the Konijnenberg, but that cannot be a hurdle. In wet weather, the roads in the valley of the Motte are muddy and it is best to wear adapted footwear.

There are several possibilities to park the car, but we advise you to take the spacious parking Kortakker at the beginning of the walk. The center can be busy and inconvenient to find the otherwise spacious parking lot near the church.

The starting point can be reached by bus. There is a stop at the church 150 metres from the start.

There is also plenty of catering available. A quiet place is the Café Onder den Toren. But take a look around.
