Gravel _-_ R - Marquette-lez Lille - R

With this gravel route, we take you to one of the many suburbs of Roubaix (Marquette-lez Lille). We ride through the city, yet you feel like you are in untouched nature, along the many old canals.

We start heading towards Ziverberg Station and quickly move through a small piece of Bergmolen Forest towards the Kezelberg Route, which we follow all the way to Menen. Here, we pass through Ter Walle Park and Brouwerspark towards the marina of Halluin-Menen, which is already on French soil, and we ride a section on this gravel area. Now, we head towards Étang du Trou d'Argile, where we gravel along a nice stretch to Étang de la Tuilerie. A little further, we reach the area of Ronq and gravel our way to Tourcoing, where we sharply turn left to the banks of the Canal de Tourcoing; here, we gravel our way towards Canal de Roubaix, first on the right bank, then on the left bank, and through many locks, we arrive at the intersection with La Marque Canalisée, which we cross to continue our way along the Canal de Roubaix, where we switch banks again further along to finally arrive in Marquette-lez Lille. Here, we gravel along the banks of the Canal de la Deûle until reaching Deûlémont, where we come to the banks of La Lys (Leie) and finally arrive at the (Island) Recreatiedomein De Balokken. From there, we cross the bank to the "Brikkemolen" via a single track and a picturesque bridge. From here, we head towards the meadows of Leie Park and ride along the banks of the Kanaal Komen-Ieper to Klien Zillebeke and dive into the Gasthuis forests, from where we gravel to Geluveld and up the beautiful climb towards De Merlijn, shortly after which we head back towards Zonnebeke, where we visit the Castle Park, and from there we quickly get on the Stroroute, where we gravel our way to the finish in Roeselare.
