Above the Pijnven forest reserve, you can sometimes hear the distinctive croak-croak. In 2020, the raven took up residence there, after more than 150 years of absence in Belgium. Ravens are fiercely loyal partners and also like to hang around in their chosen territory. The Pijnven is perfect for them with its mix of forest and heath. A beautiful walk that touches the edge of the forest reserve is the 'red' walk (10.7 km). The route is signposted with a red triangle.
