The immediate surroundings of the castle consist of a castle park with grassy areas, park trees, and an extensive castle forest. The landscape park in English style dates back to the 19th century. Inspired by Romanticism, the nobility incorporated water features, meadows, and trees into the design. They also experimented with creating artificial hills, pavilions, and grottos. In the castle park of Heers, you can still find a ruin of such a grotto. But the main attractions are the imposing beeches and planes. The castle itself is in poor condition. Today, many partners are working towards a new future for this impressive place full of history.
