The municipality of Destelbergen is home to several riding schools and is well known for its annual cross, which traditionally takes place in March.

The Damslootroute consists of three marked loops of 15, 21, and 32 km, of which 53%, 60%, and 56% respectively are unpaved paths.

You can start at riding school Javaro and riding school Barelhof, where all facilities for horse and rider are available. Along the way, there are several rest areas, such as the inn in the Prullenbos and the cafeteria of the Haagse Tennishoek, where you and your horse are warmly welcome.

If you choose the longest riding loop, you can enjoy the beautiful nature in Destelbergen, Heusden, Beervelde, Laarne, and Wetteren.

Due to the many narrow paths, this route is accessible only to riders and not to drivers.
