Mountain bike trails in Ottignies

This mountain bike tour finds its way through a country with fields and fields. The countryside is never far away...

Starting from the Buston ponds, very popular with fishermen, the first kilometers do not present major difficulties. In the plain, shortly after Rofessart, the small roads turn in circles between vast agricultural lands.

Up to the horizon, we see a palette of green, yellow and brown colors. Here unfolds the countryside of Ottignies, as in Pinchart, the former hunting ground of the local lords, or on the site of the Fond du Ry, one of the most picturesque corners of the trail.

In addition, as you approach Céroux, the Romanesque tower of Moriensart rises into the flat terrain. We pedal to the town square, lined with 56 lime trees. Hot air balloons regularly take off here.

After passing Mousty and Franquenies, we arrive at the provincial estate of the Bois des Rêves, the green lung of the region. We cycle to the young and modern city of Louvain-la-Neuve. We walk along the lake between the Hocaille and the Bruyères district. Finally, we arrive at the Bois de Lauzelle, a forest of 180 hectares. A short descent and we return to the bucolic valley of Buston.
