Visit of the 'PICVerts' network in Haute Lesse | Bike rides in Wallonia

In the Pays de la Haute Lisse, we follow a pleasant and easy RAVeL in a forest setting, along the Lesse, in the heart of the Ardennes.

As soon as we leave, we hear the sounds of the undulating river, mingling with the song of birds. It's really fascinating to follow the fickle Lesse along the RAVeL. The river has its source on the plateau of Paliseul and its course does not cross any inhabited area. There is no pollution in this corner of the Ardennes...

The road along the river is a feast for the eyes. This former tram line connected Wellin to Graide until 1958. Today it has been transformed into a green route for walkers and cyclists. Shortly after the road that leads to Daverdisse, we pedal in the heart of the forest, this time along the Almache, a tributary of the Lesse.

He takes us to a wooden bridge. At the edge of the forest appears Gembes, a hamlet that radiates peace and serenity, as if the surrounding forest protected it from the hustle and bustle of our time.

PICVerts is a coherent local network of municipal roads for non-motorized users (green roads, local roads and paths), a perfect complement to the RAVeL.
