AzureYou begin the walk with an exploration along Lessines' main monument "Notre-Dame à la Rose Hospital" and an introduction to its most famous resident, René Magritte. Then you cross the beautiful green landscape to the west of Lessines and La Dendre (la Dendre) and to the east of Le Pays des Collines Natural Park.
Unpaved agricultural roads, wide grassy paths, gentle slopes, small wet meadows bordered by large pollard willows make this agricultural land a small Avesnois. The highlight of the day is only 65 m but more than enough to enjoy vast panoramas.
You use the GR 123 several times, which shows its best side, especially in the morning. You will have its views again at the end of the day: a 2.5 km walk to Denderoever that takes you back from the border language village of Deux-Acren to the starting point.
