This easy circular walk along the Rhine is not just a treat for art lovers.

Europe's first cross-border sculpture trail is a delight, if only because the Rhine and its banks provide the perfect backdrop for the works of art. The predominantly easy paths along the banks of the Rhine with the sculptures, the almost 100-year-old imposing power station, the rest areas on the Swiss bank of the Rhine and the Rhine bridge at the medieval Kaiserstuhl with Schloss Rötteln, offer a varied hike in the magnificent Rhine Valley.

The easy circular hiking trail is not just an experience for art lovers. You start the varied trail above Rötteln Castle, a rock castle from the 12th century. Along the German and Swiss sides of the Rhine, the trail takes you past a wide variety of sculptures created by internationally renowned artists on the theme of "Over water - over land". You cross the Rhine via the 100-year-old, imposing power station and the Rhine bridge at Kaiserstuhl, the medieval town opposite Hohentengen. At the end of the hike, you can enjoy the magnificent view from the upper tower or enjoy a well-earned snack in a rustic "Dorfbeiz". At the tourist information office, you can pick up brochures and a Leporello to accompany the sculptures on display along the circular trail.
