Just north of the reservoir lies Romkerhall, the smallest kingdom in the world. In the nineteenth century, this was the hunting ground of King George V. He was also the one who had the 60 m high Römkerhaller waterfall constructed. In the 1970s, the area - out of oblivion - was not added to any municipality. As a result, the new owner was able to declare Romkerhall the smallest kingdom in the world in 1988 and appoint the princess of Saxony as queen!
