Hilkenbrook is a municipality in the northeast of the Emsland district in Lower Saxony. It belongs to the collective municipality of Nordhümmling, which has its administrative seat in the municipality of Esterwegen.
The neighboring municipalities are, to the northwest, the municipality of Esterwegen, to the east, the town of Friesoythe in the Cloppenburg district, to the south, the municipality of Rastdorf in the collective municipality of Werlte, and to the southwest, the municipality of Lorup.
