Floodplain lowlands and side valleys

The Aueniederung and Nebentäler is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipalities of Ahlerstedt, Bargstedt and Harsefeld in the Samtgemeinde Harsefeld as well as Bliedersdorf and Horneburg in the Samtgemeinde Horneburg in the district of Stade.

The nature reserve with the designation NSG LÜ 216 is around 685 hectares in size. For the most part, it is also designated as an FFH area "Auetal und Nebentäler", which extends over 753 hectares. In the valley of the Steinbeck east of Harsefeld, it borders on the "Steinbeckforst" nature reserve. Otherwise, it is often surrounded by the "Auetal" landscape conservation area. The area has been a nature reserve since 16 June 1997. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Stade.
