The House of Ruhr is a defunct aristocratic residence in the Holzwickeder district of Hengsen. In the Middle Ages, the complex, also known as Rura Castle or later Lappenhausen, was one of the most important and largest castles on the Ruhr. Today, only the remains of the moats and a piece of wall in the forest remain of the complex. It was located in the south of Hengsen, just above the Ruhr. Today, the site lies south of the Schwerte-Fröndenberg railway line and east of the Hengsen reservoir.
