Niederwürzbacher Pond

The Niederwürzbacher Pond is a 12 ha large lake in the Saarland Niederwürzbach in the Saarpfalz district.
The Niederwürzbacher Pond extends along the L 111 at the edge of Niederwürzbach from northwest to southeast in the valley of the Würzbach. At the western end, a peninsula juts into the lake and divides it. The northern arm of the pond receives the water of the Geißbach. On the peninsula, there is a recreational restaurant and a villa-like residential house. A road runs over the dam located in the southeast. The inflow and outflow of the pond is the Würzbach. The train station of the town is also located on the shore of the lake on the railway line from Saarbrücken to Pirmasens. The lake is part of the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve.
