The Von Seydlitz Barracks in Kalkar/Uedem on the Beginenberg is a barracks of the Bundeswehr and serves as the headquarters of the Air Operations Centre. It is named after the Prussian cavalry general Friedrich Wilhelm von Seydlitz.
Since 1969, Kalkar has been a Bundeswehr location. The Von Seydlitz Barracks in the district of Altkalkar houses offices of the Air Force and NATO, particularly the Air Operations Centre, the Kalkar Air Force Support Group, Command Support Area 3, the Kalkar Medical Supply Centre, and the Joint Air Power Competence Centre.
