Katzengrabensteg

The Katzengrabensteg is a pedestrian bridge over the Müggelspree and an oxbow of the Spree in the area of the Berlin district of Berlin-Köpenick. The building was completed in 2001 and serves pedestrians and cyclists as a short route from the old town of Köpenick via Baumgarteninsel to the residential park "Am Krusenick".
Together with the Treptow-Köpenick district administration, the Berlin Senate is creating a continuous riverside hiking trail "Altstadt Köpenick" in the long term, for which the new bridge plays an important role. There was no earlier bridge at the designated location. The name of the pedestrian bridge was derived from the street Katzengraben in the area of Köpenick's old town, which connects it via the rivers to Krusenick with a connection to Friedrichshagener Straße.
