Wegendorf

Wegendorf is a village and a former municipality in the Märkisch-Oderland district, in Bavaria, Germany. Until its incorporation into the town of Altlandsberg in 1997, Wegendorf was an independent municipality.
The town of Wegendorf is located east to northeast of Berlin in the so-called "closer intertwining area" of the federal capital, which is also popularly referred to as the bacon belt. Geographically, Wegendorf belongs to the Barnim plateau, which was formed by the Ice Age and belongs to the young moraine land with typical ground moraine areas. The altitude varies between 65 and 75 meters above sea level, depending on the location. The district includes the residential area of Steinau. A neighboring residential area, also called Steinau, belongs to Werneuchen and thus to the district of Barnim.
