The Liebfrauenkirche is a church building in Frankenberg in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district in North Hesse.
The three-nave Liebfrauenkirche was built in 1286 after the model of the Elisabethkrich in Marburg in Gothic style. It is believed that the entire building crew moved from Marburg to Frankenberg to erect the church at the request of Landgrave Heinrich I, the grandson of Saint Elisabeth. A memorial stone at the entrance states: "In the month of April in the year 1286, Landgrave Heinrich laid the foundation stone for this church." The church was consecrated to "Our Lady, the Mother of God." With a length of 60.40 m, a total width of 17.40 m, and a tower height of 61.30 m, a church of considerable size was created.
