Short Description

The Finne is the eastern foothill of the Harz Mountains, which extends as a ridge through the Saale-Unstrut region.

Description

The hiking trail runs from Weißenfels through the most beautiful section of the region, passing through the Blütengrund near Naumburg with its uniquely beautiful terraced vineyards and sandstone vineyard houses, and leaves the Saale Valley near Bad Sulza after visiting Rudelsburg and Burg Saaleck. From Auerstedt, you can soon see Eckartsburg.

Continuing along the Finne ridge, passing through Marienthal and wonderful forest areas towards Rastenberg. From Burgwenden, the hiking trail leads through beautiful deciduous forests directly along the ridge with views to the north and south, reaching the breakthrough valley of the Unstrut in Sachsenburg – the hiking destination and starting point of the Hainleitewanderweg.
1st Stage: Weißenfels – Naumburg (17km)
2nd Stage: Naumburg – Bad Kösen / Himmelreich (16km)
3rd Stage: Bad Kösen – Marienthal (16km)
4th Stage: Marienthal – Rastenberg (14km)
5th Stage: Rastenberg – Burgwenden (15km)
6th Stage: Burgwenden – Sachsenburg (13km)

NOTE: Currently, the trail between Eckartsberga/Marienthal and Rastenberg is only limitedly accessible due to changes in the forest, logging activities, and sections of the path being privately owned.
