From the Mühlenburg to the Warmenau

This nature tour through the southwest of Spenge starts and ends at Mühlenburg Castle on Mühlenburger Straße / An der Allee. It leads through several small stream valleys, past farmer's woods, mills, and stately mansions. Magnificent views of the Ravensberg hills, the Teutoburg Forest, and the Wiehengebirge repeatedly open up. Nagelsholz is reminiscent of an airport that was never built. The linen production of past days can be seen at the Rötekuhlen. Part of the route follows the Warmenau River, the border stream to Lower Saxony. On the way back towards the city center, the route passes by Gut Warmenau on some grass and forest paths until reaching Werburg and returning to Mühlenburg Castle.
