Gondorf-Löf-Alken-Niederfell

Beautiful, but very challenging journey with beautiful views. This hike on both sides of the Moselle, the Eastern Eifel and the Hunsrück leaves a lasting impression of this cultural landscape of the Lower Moselle with its numerous vineyard terraces created by winemakers.
The tour starts in the district of Kobern-Gondorf and goes straight up towards Lehmerhöfe. From there, it continues on the Moselle Heights Trail to Moselsürsch. Then it goes downhill to the southeast on a beautiful railway path through the mountain forest along the Kehrbach into the beautiful Moselle town of Löf, where you reach the bridge. This takes you to the lovely wine village of Alken, where you can stop for a cozy break. A pause is welcome. Via Bachstrasse, you come to an old railway path, which is really a strenuous ascent while enjoying a beautiful view of Castle Thurand. Once at the top, you will be rewarded. We hike west on the Bleidenberg and north on a narrow path downhill to Oberfell at Bleidenberg. On this plateau, we reach the viewpoint Hohe-Lei above Niederfell. From there, a path leads to the Mönch-Felix watchtower for a beautiful panoramic view of the Lower Moselle region, then downhill to the Linkemühle and across the Moselgoldbrücke back to Gondorf.
