Skjern Birk Plantation covers 46 hectares. There are three marked trails in the plantation. The red route is a bike and walking path of 2.6 km. The yellow route is a bike and walking path of 1.6 km, and the blue route is a riding trail of 2.3 km.
A hammock cabin has been created, which can be booked at: www.pladsinaturen.dk. Outside the cabin, some posts have been set up, which are also intended for hammocks.
There are two lakes in the plantation, and there are picnic tables by both lakes. A burial mound called Galgehøj is located at the boundary between the old division of Skjern into West and East Skjern Birk. However, it is believed that the original gallows mound was not located here, but down by Skjern Bridge.
"Skjern Birk Plantation" does not consist solely of birch trees, but rather derives its name from the area called "Skjern Birk."
