La Selva del Campo is a municipality in the Catalan comarca of Bajo Campo, in the province of Tarragona. According to data from 2017, its population was 5,546 inhabitants.
It is believed that the municipality has Roman origins and that the site remained populated during the Arab occupation. However, there is no written reference until 1149 when the deed of donation of the rural area of Montgons mentions La Selva as the boundary of that area.
