Tortellá[1] is a municipality located in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. To the north and east it borders Sales de Llierca, to the south with Argelaguer and to the west with Montagut and Oix, upstream of the confluence of the river Llierca with the river Fluviá. It is the thirteenth most populated municipality in the region with 758 inhabitants and has an area of 11.07 km². [2] The villa is located 276 meters above sea level and is 18 kilometers from Olot, 31 from Figueras and 38 from Gerona. The municipality delimits, starting from the north and governed clockwise, with Sales de Llierca, Argelaguer and Montagut and Oix.
