The Royal Crypt of the Monastery of El Escorial, in Spain, also known as the Pantheon of Kings, was built by Juan Gómez de Mora according to plans by Juan Bautista Crescenzi.
It consists of twenty-six marble tombs where the remains of the kings and queens of Spain of the dynasties of Austria and Bourbon rest, except for the kings Felipe V and Fernando VI, who chose the Royal Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso and the Convent of the Salesas Reales de Madrid, respectively, as a burial place.
