La Foia de Castalla is a natural sub-region located in the Alcoià region, south of the Mariola mountain range. It includes the upper course of the Verd or Montnegre river, which irrigates the Alicante orchard. The historical capital is Castalla and the other municipalities that form it are Ibi, Tibi, and Onil. The total population of the municipalities of the Foia is around 45,000 inhabitants. The most populous center is the town of Ibi.
