Torre Tavira - Cadiz

The Torre Tavira is the highest point in the old town. The watchtower dates from the eighteenth century and is a popular spot in the city from which you have a panoramic view over the sea. See if you can spot your favorite sights among the white roofs of the city. This is by the way one of the 129 watchtowers in Cádiz.

One floor below the observation deck, you have the opportunity to view the city through the 'camera obscura' , an innovative telescope that projects an image onto a flat, horizontal white screen. The camera obscura projects images as far as the horizon and also clearly shows the sea and historic buildings in Cádiz.

In the second exhibition space , you can view an exhibition devoted to the period between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in Cádiz.
