Under the reign of Philip II, Cordovan's corregidor ordered the construction of a fountain to improve the district's water supply .
Built in 1577 , it was crowned a century later by the graceful colt riding it. It originally stood where the Triumph of San Rafael now stands, but was moved to its current location in 1847. It seems that the name of this square and the fountain comes from the little horse , and it is also assumed that it was named after the inn of the same name.
