The primitive church must have been built around the mid-14th century , in response to the Mudejar aesthetic that prevailed in Sevillian churches at the time.
The passage of time and the damage caused by the 1755 Lisbon earthquake forced its demolition and subsequent reconstruction, which was completed in October 1841 . The neoclassical style church has two facades. The main facade is very monumental and has the special feature that it has two double towers that shelter a small atrium.
The interior consists of three naves with transept and presbytery. The main altarpiece contains the statues of San Ildefonso in the center and San Pedro and San Pablo on the sides.
