The House in the Loire is a work by the French artist Jean-Luc Courcoult. Created in 2007 as part of the Estuaire contemporary art biennale, located in the Loire, on the territory of the commune of Couëron. The work is an identical reproduction in cast concrete of the Port house, a former inn located on the now silted port of Lavau -sur-Loire. It is the work of Jean-Luc Courcoult. For the artist, it embodies “A house whose foundations, caught by the mud, slope slightly, the shutters closed, like an uninhabited wreck, though the chimney still smokes. [...] Realistic and poetic image, concrete, secret, silent, this sleeping house on the Loire could be a painting, a painting deposited in time in three dimensions. Motionless. »
