Josselin > Guenrouët - The Vélodyssée

Stage from Josselin to Guenrouët via La Vélodyssée.

Josselin and Malestroit reflect each other, with their timber-framed houses and maze of narrow streets. Take the time to stroll through Malestroit, "the pearl of the Oust", to discover the Gothic and Renaissance houses adorned with sculpted gargoyles.

Follow the towpath of the Canal de Nantes à Brest: the rolling valley of the Oust, with the foothills of the Landes de Lanvaux in the background, between wild lands and forests. After the confluence with the Claie, Saint-Congard and the Guélin lock are welcome stopping points.

You will be amazed by the landscape on Île-aux-Pies, with its pine trees and rocks that give it a Mediterranean atmosphere that adds to the charm of this part of the cycling route La Vélodyssée. Then there's Redon, at the crossroads of 7 rolling valleys, the Nantes-Brest canal, the Vilaine, and the Oust! Be careful at the Potinais dam and when crossing Redon.
